Info:I attended HHS but did not actually graduate from Hamlet. My family moved away in my Junior year. I have lived in Boone for 35 years. I have 3 children (John-29, Aaron-27 & Amy-23) and 2 grandsons (8 months & 7 months).  I am enjoying being a "Grandma". Some of my interests: walking (at least 2 miles almost every day), hiking, exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway, bluegrass & folk music, practicing my mandolin, music events (concerts/festivals), traveling (road trips!), sunrises and sunsets on the Parkway, spending time with my children and grandchildren. Info: Daddy (George Hendricks) was with Seaboard RR.  Moved around alot as all RR kids do, but he moved us back to his home of Hamlet in 1966.  I graduated from Hamlet in 1970, went to RTI and left home in 1972.  Once you get that sand in your shoes you have to come back and I was blessed to return in 1987.  So glad to be able to raise my children in Hamlet.  They enjoy walking to the library almost as much as I did.

We have been married 30 years and have two daughters, Sarah, 25 and Rachel 21. Sarah was just married on April 16, 2005, to Phil Berger, an engineer with Michelin Tires in Greenville, SC. Sarah graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and was a Journeyman Missionary to Spain for two years before moving back to the USA in August of last year.
